Yea, cquartz has to be applied on absolutely clean paint. It is a microscopic glass that bonds to the clear coat/paint. The prep process is about 90% of the job. It's not really recommended if you don't feel like stripping the current wax or sealant, clay bar, polish, then use a spray to remove the polish residue before applying cquartz. Glenn has a few threads in the cosmetic forum that steps you through the process I'm sure.
