This is exactly why I have been a big proponent of using the same
drivers on the
same day. This is not a new phenomenon here.
Randy Pobst set a track record (128.65) at Laguna Seca in November of 2015 using a 2016 Viper ACR. Last year during the Motortrend best drivers car competition (nearly a year later), he posted a 131.58 (2.93 seconds slower). Track temps, tire temps, tire conditions all have a factor….as does how much mojo the driver has that day.
