Where my son now attends college almost all the kids keep a car on campus.

All the millenials I know get a car for personal use much sooner than I would have envisioned in my youth. The only reason they don't shop and buy a new car is because their parents bought or gave them one.
EXACTLY my experience. One of the happiest days in my household was when my oldest got his drivers license and was able to drive himself and his brother to school. They nicknamed the Chevy Blazer we bought for them "The Errand-mobile" because they had the "privilege" of making all the last minute grocery store and post office runs.

Now that my youngest graduates (walks tomorrow) and heads to college in the fall, the Chevy Cruze that he's been driving to school this year becomes my winter car, since he will not have or need a car on campus.
