Occasional forays to increasingly higher RPM's with cool downs in between are good for seating your rings. Engine braking pulls oil up into the head for better lubrication.
1000 miles... you're good to go.
I do a break in oil change but that's personal preference...
I agree 100%. I also do a rear differential fluid change as well.......
