Others will raise hell about it telling you that you can't do that and need to turn the rotors etc, it's bullcrap and I assure you that it's ok. If you look at the design of the caliper, that's exactly what they are made to do, hot swap the pads. Read about bedding the pads in, and do that after the install.

And clean your rotors really well before putting new pads in. Just did mine recently without changing rotors. No issues.
