Regardless, I had considered an electric cutout, but have heard many stories of the motors burning up in them from exhaust heat, some as early as a few months after install. I know QTP makes a nice product, but the thought of it going toast on me sways me away from that route. I'll have to do some research on boost referenced cutouts.

I can't say I've heard of one 'burning up the motor from exhaust heat'. People probably identify that as the failure, but it's just not true. I've run dozens of QTP's over the year. I've seen motors crap out due to owner fault, like leaving the cutout motor running after the valve was open, causing the motor to over heat. Another had the valve stuck closed due to some light rusting from not being opened in a while. Rather than getting under the car and popping the valve open with a light hammer tap, they tried to force the motor to open the stuck valve, which ended up with a burnt out motor. Now I can't speak to the quality of the ebay knockoffs, those I could see burning up due to heat!
