There isn't any "issue", these cars as well as the C7 Z06s, CTS-Vs, etc have torque management. Hell the previous generation C6s, V2s, etc had it too. It's nothing new but people keep making a big deal out of it like it is.
The c7 Z06 isn't as restricted as the ZL1s, I've seen high 1.5 60' times from stock z06s. My stock 5th gen zl1 has pulled 1.65 60' times on the factory tires. It doesn't look like Chevy is letting the new Z loose until 2nd gear.
