I think I remember seeing a post somewhere in the forum....If I remember correctly it isn't supposed to be difficult to remove if it's held in place with screws...If rivets, then they need to be drilled out.

Back in 2011 I went to look at a 2011 SS at one particular dealer here in NC and they got it on a dealer trade/swap from a dealer in VA and it had the front plate holder installed. On the 5th gens it was riveted into the front bumper....and so I didn't get it. I think the front plate holder is not as invasive on the 6th gens. I wish the dealers in VA would not install the front plate until the car is sold that way if it's sold to a state that doesn't require a front plate then no harm. But that's just my .02
