I don't have the atak, but I have the Borla s-type which is the middle ground (not quite as loud or high pitched as the atak) and I'll say that it is significantly louder and has a deeper better sounding exhaust note over stock, it really brings the car to life.
I too did not want to void any warranty and wasn't doing it for hp, but I wanted something that was louder and sounded better than the stock NPP, totally worth the money to me because I got all of that plus it is one of the very few systems that don't drone and it can be "turned off" with the NPP valve and when cruising still as quiet as stock NPP.
