When you pull the fuse the valves open by default (power off position). So it's easy to tell if you pulled the right fuse with the car on or in service mode. Also the Blind Spot fuse is in the trunk fuse box. So there's no explanation for why pulling a fuse from the engine bay box would kill them. But considering several members including me have found a mystery relay in the engine bay box, I'm beginning to wonder if the owner's manuals are full of mistakes.
