First, thank you for this. It will be interesting to see how this is configured across thousands of cars. I certainly don't like the looks of it and will be checking mine.

Now the head-scratcher... so the two wires were stripped with a theoretical intermittent short causing surging, but no CEL. Where does that harness connect and what are the two wires involved?
