Personally, looking at it on paper, the torque band of the LT4 looks amazing. There is a ton of low end torque available on that engine. The couple of things that concern me about it would be the smaller blower turning faster, and the direct injection. While these are two things that contribute to that torque band, I would just be concerned how they will hold up over the long haul. Just haven't seen any of these things hit 50K+ mile mark yet.
Yet, the C6 ZR1 was only made for a couple of years. It was actually a car that was never in the plan until GM's financial crisis. That delayed the C7 by a couple of years, so the ZR1 was built keep the talk about Corvette alive. While it's not quite as advanced as the Z06, it's a heck of a car, and heck of a deal at some of the prices I see them going for.
I think it's like this, the C7 Z06 will roast 'em at the track, it is all around the better car for that. However, I believe with in a couple of years if not sooner, the C6 ZR1 will draw more attention at the local cars and coffee.

Put the same tires from the c7 z06 on the zr1 and the track difference will be minimal. The c6 zr1 is a lighter and faster car not to mention they are all hand built and the was only 4600 made. The c7 z06 are a production line setup and there is a shit ton of them!
