Yeah if you read down I replied that I realize now there is no sub in the system.
I found this:

The guy didn't remove his 6x9s but he does show how they're mounted under the rear deck plastic trim cover. Somewhere in another thread I was looking at a guy asked his Chevy dealer for the GM instructions on how to replace a rear deck Bose speaker and he said it did not indicate you need to remove the rear window.
So as I look at the picture my guess is that the extended trim rings around the speakers with the foam on them are there to seal to the rear deck plastic trim tightly and to eliminate rattles. I am thinking that trim ring snaps or unscrews off the actual speaker frame, enabling you to have enough room to pull the speaker out of the unit body deck frame without removing the rear window.
I would like to know before I complete tear the back of my car apart, however lol. Hopefully I can find some better detailed pictures of the rear deck speakers, or maybe I'll just go to my dealer and ask for the rear speaker remove procedure out of the manual!
Just dreading actually moving around back there. I'm no small fry. Just me and my girl and we're not having kids so rear seat room never was an issue..... until now lol
