I don't know if I should admit to my first car - I didn't really buy it out of choice - but it was my parents' '71 Ford Torino. No, not the cool one like Starsky & Hutch drove, not even a Gran Torino - just a boring old Torino, the 4-door family car. I bought it cheap from them because my dad found a Pinto he thought I would like, but my mom liked it so much they decided to keep it and sell me the Torino!

The first car I really searched for and bought myself was the '68 Camaro I still own. It smoked like a barbecue when I brought it home and they wouldn't let me drive it until we yanked out the straight-6 and replaced it with a rebuilt 350 - now that I think about it, the wait to drive that car just about killed me back then, too! I should be used to waiting for my Camaros by now

We have a '95 Firebird Formula that my husband is fixing up a bit - it has the LT1 V8, so it is a reasonably fast car (although our perception of fast just changed a bit!).
