Wow! I'm trying to put this together.
It sounds like he may have messed with your transmission fluid!
If he overfilled the oil, you would get windage problems with the crank foaming up the oil causing you to burn oil. It might also cause some power loss, since the crank is turning in a thick bath of oil.
I can't make the connection of overfilled oil in the crankcase to automatic transmission clutch packs slipping.
I suspect mega-stupidity at play here!
