And one that doesn't have as many gears to chose from as the A8 nor the RPM recovery after shift that the A8 has. Then there is the fact that the MSD makes more power than my ported stuff no where, it just holds a lesser power number for longer. In side by side runs starting at 4,500 and higher the MSD car I have run against that makes identical HP has not out run me. If we are talking about driving around curves and not just a straight line then power under the curve and exit speed and pulling tq are very important. You are not spending all of your time over 5,500. In a drag race you are not launching these cars at 5,500+ either. IMHO the MSD is more detrimental to the M6 with it's gear splits than an A8 by far. But that is just me looking at numbers. I don't have a M6 so I can't speak from first hand experience. I see that you have an MSD on your car so I would like to hear where you launch the car at the strip, drive the car under normal conditions, and spend most of your rpm time on the track that has corners. I would also like to know where your rpm recovery falls with lets say a 6,500 rpm shift.

I am not trying to antagonize you in the least. I am just trying to find a good application for the stock MSD and I haven't been able to yet nor justify the price over the stock pieces from GM. I would really actually like the MSD to work. In ported form I may back to back one on my car at the track just to see what happens. I have already done my dyno home work. It could be interesting. So please don't take my above statements as a slight. I am just an analytical person that deals in numbers and data.

Thanks.

I don't have any data.

Like Fraxum I got the MSD really early on when it was the only option (also the reason I have the CAI CAI). I got a really good deal on it as well.

My car pulls strong up top but I did not notice any considerable loss of tq below the curve. In fact when I race people its my power under the curve that lets me pull away.

I launch the car at about 2500 RPM with my Mickey et s/s and ran a 7.9 with a 1.8 60ft on a lightly prepped surface in 1000 DA.

I have thought about switching over to your ported IM as mine is still sitting in the garage collecting dust and spiders but I just don't see where I could have lost almost 40 rwtq in some places.
