The 5th gen ZL1 did not had any overheating issue, that is more related to the actual C7 Z06.
On the 5th gen ZL1 only the '12-'13 had a SC component wich was replaced under warranty, none of the '14-'15 have any issues their powertrain is bullet proof. I already have 14000 miles on mine without a single issue.
