I remember on my old '11 5.0 GT 6 speed manual with the 3.73 rear, I was very good at just before the red line doing my shifting without missing a gear, but every time that I encountered another 5.0 but with the automatic transmission, they would always beat my car, I checked with other guys from the forums and was explained that is normal that under the same conditions always the faster mechanism of the auto would beat the manual shift - clutch handled by human mechanism. But at the end I think that I enjoyed more my prior manual transmission car with a bigger smile and during spirited driving or at the track circuit was one of the greatest experiences that now I miss with my actual automatic transmission 5th.gen ZL1. My next car for sure would be a Manual transmission 6th. gen ZL1 or SS 1LE. I'm now 52 and still enjoying my driving.
