Removing the brace long enuff to drain was exactly what I was considering- did you place anything under the tranny (bottle jack with a block of wood or a box) to support things while the brace was off?
Also, I've already bought the RP, so I'm stuck with it but will report back here about results. If I'm disappointed, I'll change it again, LOL. After putting up with the clunker trans in my last 5th gen V6, I'm not gonna quit til this one's as good as it can get either!
I was really impressed with this trans for the first couple of thousand miles but when the weather got cooler (I mean the 50's) it got balky and could have gotten "crunchy" if I had forced shifts. I want that butter feeling back!
