1500 miles? Where do they mention that?

My car has 700 miles on it, and I did an oil change to Mobil 0w-40 at 650 miles.

Yesterday I went to a NASA track event and ran it pretty hard during three 20 minute sessions. The car performed flawlessly, all temps were perfectly in check, and tires came right up to pressure just like the supplemental performance manual said they would. It was over 90 degrees ambient and the oil temp never got above 265, water never went over 200. My friends with dedicated race cars had oil temps approaching 290 and water at 240.

Don't be afraid to run these cars hard. They have been almost over-built and are extremely capable. I had so much fun yesterday and the car impressed they hell out of not only me, but my instructor as well.

That said, Id probably do what I did and change the oil after 500 or 1000 miles before doing a track day, just so you can flush out anything the OEM oil would have picked up in that time.
