The OP's engine failure was still during warm-up, so the very slight bump in high-temp viscosity of a dexos2 isn't in play here. Find another thing to complain about, the oil isn't the problem here unless there wasn't any due to dealer negligence.

Also, Mobil 1™ ESP Formula 5W-30 is Dexos2, though it's low-temp viscosity is still too high, it's more like a 10W-35.

There is no such API spec XW-35, also the LT1 in the Stingray asks for 15W50 for trackdays and there are plenty of people running that without issue. 5W,10W isn't a problem here. Not to mention it was the second heat and oil was warm already.




Even if it had 10 quarts of Dexos1 it wouldn't lead to an engine failure so quickly. Its 99.9% an engine defect caused failure.
