You will have to let me know how that autocross is this weekend. Never been.... I think I'm gonna talk to the airfield manager and start campaigning for Cherry Point to host a runway event...mile racing or beyond. How sweet would that be!
We'll definitely have to do some ride-alongs next time. I've driven a stock 2016 Challenger Hellcat on the skid pad and autocross at Bondurant Racing School. I've also done a ride-along in one on their road coarse with a professional racer. It was a thrill keeping that beast within the cones with all that power on tap. I was blown away at how the skilled racing instructor could carve the corners with it, though. It tries to understeer coming into a turn and without careful throttle input the ass-end will loose grip easily on the exit. The Viper is tighter and much more balanced for the turns - like the ZL1.

I will get GoPro footage from the autocross event and post a thread next week. Autocross is the next best thing to road track racing. It's not wheel-to-wheel racing but it's very technical and feels faster because of the challenging turns and slaloms.

If you can help arrange something like that I'm sure they'd be plenty of participants. I'm in for sure! They only time I've seen cars on the runway was at the air shows by pros with plenty of liability insurance, though.
