No, you don't necessarily have to delete your secondary cats if you want an aftermarket mid-pipe (not that a secondary cat delete should cause any codes because the secondary cat is not monitored).
What pipe diameter is your axle back? 2.75" like the stock pipe?

Nope, there are x-pipe kits that do delete the secondary cats, but you don't have to. there are some that leave the cats intact. you local muffler shop can hook you up with a custom one, they're fairly simple, or you can always get an aftermarket brand x-pipe. just make sure that you get a real x-pipe, not another stamped one like the stock one or the magnaflow one.
