Thanks! It's just one of many successful methods.
For my own ego's sake...that was after two to three months in the summer...and I wasn't going in and out of an office building...dust, sweat, and grime were very present.
But it does work. And that shift knob took me all of 5-7 minutes to clean up from that condition. That's why I maintain suede is not difficult to keep clean. (you just have to actually keep it clean...which I did not...
)
