I am fairly sure GM is happy with a 2 Billion+ dollar business known as Camaro. Is it selling like generations before? No, price point is high and they targeted a slightly higher demographic and moved to a more sports car style over muscle. Only the market will say how that will pan out.
I think Camaro can do with a few changes, but it isn't doom and gloom. Before the 4th gen went out of production they had back to back years of 40-60k cars being built. In those years dollars, the 4th gen was a $1 Billion dollar business.
Looking at Mustang and Challenger they are not that far off from each other. Mustang has the cheapest price point and is enjoying a lead in qty of cars being sold. A 6th Gen refresh could help, but GM is in a good spot in my honest opinion and the Camaro business is making enough money to keep GM happy for now.
