This is totally false if you are talking about the previous gen LTx? I am going to assume you mean the current gen LTx, if so I sort of agree.
The older gen LTx had a totally different, deeper, sound then the LSx and current gen LTx.
I owned both a '95 Z28 and '00 SS at the same time for awhile, and both had the same SLP exhaust. They sounded completely different. I actually thought the deeper, bassier, LT1 sounded much better...it was less raspy.
