Another avenue to keep your shiny new ZL1 out of the ditches... is early season autocross. Many clubs have one day free training sessions to hook newcomers. Some do skid pad, threshold braking, slalom runs, etc... all with instructors. Even if you are not interested in autocross, this approach can be an economical way to get a feel for the limits of your car, without the danger.

Absolutely right! SCCA clubs host autocross weekends all over the US. They're starting as soon as the weather clears. Bookmark
MotorsportsReg to check for events near you. Their search tool lets you plug in your zip code and check boxes for your preferred motor sports. It also lets you specify how many miles from home you want to look. Fees are usually $20 - $40 for "novice" training day.
