There is a simple explanation for the large number of listings. These cars are priced way above market. To make matters worse many of these cars have highly individualized mods which don't help things any. Some options like the $2,000 wheel sets have no resale value.
A lot of these may not be serious sellers. If the seller gets his price he sells, but if not they keep the car because they can't afford to take a hit. Resale values on a 2016 SS are weak. Check Edmunds if you don't believe me.
It's a harsh reality but first year depreciation on most vehicles is around 30% while the next two years are about 10% each. If you don't keep a car 3 years, you get burned.
