I had a new HMI module installed by the dealer recently which is a whole new part # by GM with newer revision firmware apparently. I haven't had any weird sort of issues with the MYLink system after using remote start since. It's only been a few weeks so I don't want to proclaim this has fixed the issues yet.

I was having "Driving Mode" and "Lighting" disappear 3 out 4 times that I used remote start. I was also having the strange black bar pop up when changing the A/C controls often. I plan to keep using remote start as often as I can and see if it still causes issues. By the way, my HMI module died which is why I got a new one. I had to wait 6 weeks for it on top of that. GM did a goodwill by giving me $500 in free accessories. So don't think you can just run down to the dealer and demand replacement lol.
