I wouldn't spend that much on stereo upgrades

I use to be a big car stereo guy. I get the appeal to buy the greatest brand names and the best sounding systems. The fact is the Camaro was not designed to have quiet interior. To change that, would require pounds and pounds of sound-deading which makes no sense in a sports car.

The ambient noise will destroy even the best systems (in my opinion). I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a mid grade set up under these conditions.

I would myself replace the speakers, spending most on the front components, and get a cheaper set of sensitive speakers for the rear, add a factory upgrade processor, a small-med size 4-channel amp, and a powered sub.

The cabin is the Camaro is pretty small, so anything over 100W per channel is pointless unless you want hearing loss later on.

You can buy these parts for about $1k to 1.5k.
