I think it's the engine....But only happens when going from V4 to V8. When switching out of AFM, it puts a load on the engine because the RPM gauge moves 500-1000 RPM's during the AFM shift.
Once in full V8 mode the RPM gauge goes back to normal and the car runs great ! No issues... Until it goes back in to V4 mode cruising down the highway.
