You are right on point there, must shops do not really know how to set the system up before you hire them. Here in the forum is all the information you need, but be assured that you have to use the post amp signals if you want to keep all the functionality. When I want to do an audio upgrade, I gather all the information from the forums and then tell the shop how I want it done.
The idea to use pre amp signals is not feasible now, that MOST signal is GM´s propietary code and it would thake countless hours from an expert software programmer to decode it, it would cost $$$$$ it is just not worth to do it when you can use a Mosconi DSP or JL Audio Fix.86.
