For cars with NPP, the valves close at highway speeds so there is no drone at all. This is good if you don't want drone, it is bad if you want loud exhaust while cruising. Also, cars with automatic have AFM valves that close when in 4cyl mode which quiets things down even more. I keep my NPP valves open most of the time and you really notice the AFM. I cannot comment on cars without NPP
