The ad is Canadian, so $66,950.00 = $51,000 U.S. (at today's conversion rate).
$51,000.00 for a new 2016 Hellcat is a steal. I priced it on the US Dodge site and MSRP was over $71,000.00. Even with aggressive discounts you couldn't buy one of these for $51,000 here. It'd be worth the drive to Toronto if you're a Hellcat fan.

One big problem: you can't buy a new car in Canada as an American.

Same deal for Canadians (or anyone else) trying to buy a new car from the US.

It is possible to buy used though. AutoTrader.ca works pretty much the same way as AutoTrader.com.

And some people specialize in buying new cars then selling them 'used' for slightly more than they paid.

Chrysler does not honour warranties on cars that were originally sold in Canada then exported to the US.

And the brokerage fee you pay to the person that buys it new, then sells it as used.

If you just buy used, this is not an issue.

Wouldn't be worth it unless you're going after a ZL1. 50 to 60 grand is about the break even point (assuming that you are just paying MSRP) by the time you add in all the extra costs. Not just taxes, but plane tickets (if you're flying in), food/gas/accommodations (double it if you are driving there and back), possibly the cost of taking a couple days off work (depending on your employer and/or level of honesty) ... all these take away from potential savings.

Of course, for people that live right near the border it gets a lot cheaper. Toronto is less than 2 hours away from Buffalo. Entire thing can be taken care of in a single day so the only extra cost is some gas & a meal or two. Or if you were already planning on taking a vacation to Canada, most of the travel costs are irrelevant because you're already paying to get here & leave.
