As long as you're not driving a truck with gvwR (gross vehicle weight RATING, you should find it on the truck inner door, or door post) over 10,000# , haz-mat, or passengers you're not under FMCSA rules. You need to get your company to clarify it tho, it's kind of like the rabbit hole when you're dealing with Feds.
