In the internet world stock for stock is grand. In the real world where real people race their real cars with the intent of winning a race regardless of what they drive traction is as important as any other aspect of competition. Not rocket science. You can talk as much as you want about how quick your car is but he who is prepared has the distinct upper hand. If one stays away from a track and stays safe there is little argument. Just a proven fact Mr Bass. I do participate in racing often and have done it for decades. I try to help our younger racers improve their cars performance while staying safe as much as I can. And yes it's true, not all who own performance oriented cars race their cars. Personally, I'd rather watch paint dry than drive a numbers matching whatever. If I wanted to commute I'd buy a commuter but since I have a performance type vehicle I use it accordingly. To attempt going down a track on factory tires would potentially be disastrous on a track.
