Not sure how a 401k is going to help you when one of the following is certain to occur before you can use it:
1. Zombie apocalypse. The government has plans for it....
2. Day After Tomorrow. Storms getting more frequent, ice is melting....
3. Mad Max. Stock market crash/correction is way more devastating when your economy doesn't produce anything and all your money is in it. Once #1 or #2 are dealt with, #3 becomes the new world order.
4. Aliens.
5. Revolution occurs where the 99% take back the disproportionate wealth hoarded by the 1% in a bloody multi-decade war that causes either a V for Vendetta future for the US or a Hunger Games future.
That's my retirement plan.
