Give him a chance to make it right and if he doesn't ask for your money back and get it done elsewhere. If you end up going somewhere else get some references / feedback first
This is almost an art. It's probably not the fault of the product it's the person doing the work.

It's all about the installer. The edges, debris and smudes are issues. Water should evaporate. You aren't being picky IMO. I would ask for them to make it right, were I in your position. I would also make sure they do it in the shop. I am super happy with the work I had done on my car. Hope you get it worked out to your satisfaction.
