Next year these may come off if I can find either a black wheel with a nice polished trim ring, , or a true solid machine face black wheel.

I certainly agree and understand your point of view. I had the split 5's and in motion, they look the best especially with red.
When I put the black rims on, it amazes me how the black rims blends in with all the black accents of the car. After 7 months of silver wheels, I would say black wheels give the car more personality and looks much much more aggressive.
To each of their own, just depends on what kind of personality the owner wants their car to project
