My journey to a 6th gen

I was first turned on to Camaros heavily in 1997 when I worked as a lot boy at Ken Wilson Chevrolet in Vestal, NY. I saw a the owner drive a 97 Silver SS and sounded awesome. They must have not inserted the baffles in that one!! After college I bought a 1996 SS and it's been on since then. I totaled that one...oops, but then bought another just like it. I still have that one with just about 28k on it. I didn't need another one by the time they stopped making them and I thought that was it. Since then, I've followed it from 2006 at the Detroit Auto Show reveal and knew I had to have one. I would've bought one much sooner, but couldn't get used to the visibility on the five second test drives I was allotted, and was extremely happy with my current G35 coupe. It wasn't until I started having transmission issues with the G that I started looking hard again. I found a no reserve auction on ebay for a 2011 Convertible LT just around the corner from work. That test drive gave me enough confidence that the visibility could be over come. I lost the auction, but ended up with a 14 SS a few weeks later. That car was great, but it was a 1SS and I missed the stereo out of the G, along with the Xenon lights and leather and sunroof and keyless start. I looked at upgrading all that stuff, but when I saw the '16 prices drop like the stock market in 08, I stopped looking for mods and starting looking for a deal. I convinced myself that because of my current driving situation, that I would settle for the 4T, but needed the RS package, Tech and Sound upgrades and a convertible. That gave me all the stuff I wanted that the 14 SS didn't have. I worked hard for the deal I ended up with, but that's how I got into a 6th gen. There is no regret with the 4T, but I will not be doing that again. It seems more like a nice Chevy convertible, than a muscle car. It will certainly not be my last vehicle, so I will enjoy humming along topless with my Bose stereo and halos leading the way!!
