They are the same engine family, which makes most of the components the same (aside from the crank which adjusts the stroke=lower displacement).
With that being said, the lgx exhaust outlet coming off the head has more of a circular outlet whereas the head of the lgw looks more rectangular resembling that of a T4 (or simialr) turbo charger. So compression differences aside, either way the heads are pretty different
