Just wanted to give all of you a heads up that it may possibly happen to you if you have the controller installed. To fix it I just removed the throttle controller and then disconnected the main negative terminal for 30 min and then connected the terminal back. It's back to normal and the engine light is gone.

Yup this can happen with the controller. I haven't had issues, but if setup goes wrong or maybe a power blip in the car throws it off, it can cause limp mode. Most people with the controller have issues upfront with a rushed setup job, this is the first I am hearing of issues beyond setup.
Mine has been going strong for 9 months now on this car. No issues yet.
