SS 1LE I assume. It's simple. If tracking is the main reason you are buying this car get the 1LE. The standard SS as it sits is as fast on a track as the 5th gen 1LE and handles just as well, just the tires are not as trackable as the ones on either 1LE.

So if you just will do an occasional track day or none, get the M6 SS and save $$. You will not miss the 1LE. The stock SS is a great handing car. Chevy made all the SSes awesome. Both have the same cooling. If you are not a track rat the SS brakes and diff are both fine. The only advantage of the 1LE brakes is not stopping power, but slightly better feel and less fading as the brakes get hotter.

Someone who knows how to drive in an SS will be able to run and hide from a lesser driver in a 1LE.
