Mod vs buy a ready built car? The eternal question... but there are many more you need to consider. Such as...

Are you actually going to track the car? Does resale matter to you? If you mod your SS and go to trade/sell it, will these mods add any value or can you sell them once removed from the SS? Can you do the mods yourself or do you have to pay someone or a shop to install them for you?

Pros for modding are as you mentioned - you can usually mod a car for somewhat less and you can definitely personalize it. However, there are often one-off items on the ready built model like the 1LE that are very expensive.

Mods DO make a car more personal and fit the owner's taste. But - not everyone feels the same as you do if they are shopping for a used SS. So, if you are looking to keep the SS, I would seriously consider modding it if you can do the mods yourself. Trading for a new car is expensive but if you could find a 1 or 2 year old 1LE (at some point), that might be a better route financially IF you want to wait.

Only you really know the answer to this question. Does the idea of the new 1LE make you excited? Or, do you really like your SS and want to turn a lot of wrenches and save money?

It comes down to you. Good luck!
