You know that any components from the factory are going to be top of the line quality wise and have been tested, thoroughly. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you use the GM slotted rotors at the track. It was probably a move to save $ and keep the cost of the car as low as possible. People are going to chew through rotors that track it regularly anyway, so I don't think it's a big deal. They do look pretty nice though.
