Drilled are definitely a bad idea. Slotted, though...there is some use for slotted. The C7 Z51 rotor is slotted and the Z06 is drilled. The rules may be different for a carbon ceramic rotor.
I've read/heard many times that a slotted rotor helps with outgassing, which keeps the pad from pushing away from the rotor when it heats up.
