Potential 6 Cyl buyer....A few questions...

Drove a 2SS / 8 spd auto the other day at my local Dealer.I was VERY impressed. Got me going on a new Camaro.

BUT....My real world situation. I live in a rural area, my trip to town is 45 miles one way. That is 95% on 80 MPH Interstate. I usually need to drive in 3-4 times a week.

Everything out here is a DRIVE. I do 25-30K a year, easily. Sometimes more.

I DO have a 4x4 for truly lousy Winter conditions so THAT is not a factor. BUT one can get caught in bad weather , so some snows or at minimum All Seasons on the rear from Nov to March are probably a reality.

So ...MPG, tire life and fuel costs ARE a factor.

Going to drive one tomorrow at the Dealers. An auto, hoping to drive a stick for comparison as well.

Loved the sound, the acceleration of the 2SS for sure....But lets be realistic...98% of it's life will be regular old driving duty. I do not Track or SCCA, also too old and a retired Cop....so no street racing.

I know I'm giving up a LOT between a 2SS and a 2LT with a six. But the six is also GIVING me a lot too.

Looking at a pair of 2LT's, both Performance Exhaust and RS packages. Both Autos. And both are colors I like, NO sunroofs which limit my head room and affordable.

Anything else regarding a six versus a 1SS or 2SS?

I know this is a rambling...stream on consciousness thread...I think I'm looking for some support here. LOL.
