Well - there are always ways around these things. I had two completely modified motors in a C4 and 3rd gen with long tube headers, solid roller cams and even fully aftermarket computers. Things can be dealt with just sayin

But the classics are all exempt from all that bs. 73 and earlier are smog exempt. So you can do whatever you see fit.
