I had two first gens - both hot rods and a new third gen that I drove for 10 years.

The best first gen was a 69 with a full C4 front clip with aftermarket steering and coilovers. Car handled pretty good for a classic but nothing like a new SS. Also had a built EFI LT-1 making close to 400hp. But again nothing like the new 6.2 motor. I tried using it as a daily for while but didn't work. And as a weekend car also didn't work - I spend weekends with my wife for the most part and often on a road trip to visit one of our kids. Classic is no good for that even when done as a pro touring car. New SS fits the bill for me as a weekend car that could also be used as a daily if I wanted to.
