Thanks for the heads up. I've been aware of this on a voluntary arrangement with individual insurance companies, but not as a feature available on your car from any mfr. Something new to watch out for, no matter whose connectivity/telematics system is in play.
Doesn't matter what I drive now, or what I will in the future, but with the way it is set up to 'grade' your driving it has no way of determining if hard braking in particular was because you were close to being involved in an accident (what they'll always assume was the case) or if it was something a lot more innocent (such as avoiding a red light camera ticket, something you do to keep your hard braking skills up-to-date so you'll be less likely to panic if/when you need to do this "for real", or just to dislodge a piece of grit that's making your brakes squeak).
The usual hard/extreme braking threshhold is only something like half a g, which really isn't all that hard at all.
